It’s never too early to start planning your beach getaway for later this winter when the cold weather blues start getting you down. Here’s five great spots you may want to consider this year.
La Jolla, California
This idyllic beach-side town with cliffs, coves and the rare Torrey pine might not have California’s most legendary stretches of beach, but La Jolla Shores Beach (picture above) has all that the family needs – and more. And when the kiddies get bored, the museums and San Diego Zoo at Balboa Park are a perfect complement to your days in the sand and surf. For those looking for some quiet tranquility can spend an afternoon in Torrey Pines State Park, one of the wildest stretches of land on the Southern California coast.

Every fashionista’s favorite season is upon us: festival season. While styling these outfits with your own personal flair is fun, it can quickly become overwhelming when you’re packing for a long weekend. When piecing together outfits for a festival weekend there are a few things to consider. First, you’ll want to dress cute, but comfortable, as you’ll be on your feet for the greater half of the day. Next, You should think about dressing in layers, depending on the festival location, for the changing temperatures throughout the event. And, of course, you will want to choose three different outfits that speak to your own personal style.
That being said, three-day festivals give you a lot of room to mix things up. We’ve rounded up some of favorite looks this season to get you festie-ready!

Since their debut in the 1950s, modern wetsuits have come a long way. What was once originally made from strips of plain, unlined neoprene has evolved to stylish suits that fit every need in the water. With improvements to design, buoyance, dryness, and style options, wetsuits are constantly evolving.

Each holiday season, January 1 creeps up on us and with it comes a whole new set of resolutions and goals for the New Year. Some of these said goals are actually attainable, others are not. Come March, many people’s resolutions have already been forgotten and disposed of like old, crinkled-up Christmas wrapping paper. That being said, we're heading in to January 2018 with an open mind and a foolproof system to achieve your best year yet.
Instead of sharing a list of unrealistic resolutions for 2018, we’re jotting down 18 ways to kick-start a healthier, better year.

It’s official, people—we have entered the “wear a sweater in the morning, regret it in the afternoon” season. For some of us, we’ve yet to see that lasting autumn weather and instead are living in temperatures somewhere between an Indian summer and wet winter. While most are eager to bust out their favorite scarves and snow boots, others are still sweating it out in 80+ degree weather. Which leaves us with one very important question: what do you wear in between seasons?
Ready or not, fall is indeed here, and despite the confusing weather we're still gathering our squash and burning our pumpkin scented candles. So, in honor of October, here are five easy ways to transition in to fall—pumpkin spice lattes, optional.
September 01, 2017
It’s September 1, which means ready or not, fall is right around the corner. While we may be counting down the hours until it’s socially acceptable to bring back chunky-knit sweaters and pumpkin spiced lattes, we’re not quite ready to retire our swimwear for winter. Luckily, for the sun-chasers and summer enthusiasts, swimsuits never really go out of style. Every season is bikini season around here, are we right?
That being said, we love recognizing major brands that act as key players in the swimwear game. While we’ve never actually met a swimsuit we didn’t like, there are a few brands that we just can’t live without.
Here are three fashion swimwear brands that you absolutely need to add to your bikini collection (ASAP).

Each year, swim brands worldwide gather up their latest designs and most innovative fashions and take to the beaches of Florida for Miami Swim Week. As buyers, we get to see a sneak peek of the hottest trends for the upcoming seasons, from our favorite brands, strutting across the runways. We’re total suckers for a good swimsuit, which makes fashion swim week just as important as any iconic, seasonal holiday that we look forward to at the end of every July. This year, we attended runway shows from Gottex, Seafolly, Maaji and Indah, and saw a curated mix of new trends such as pom-poms and tassels on swimwear, rose gold hardware, unique cover-ups and even suspenders as an accessory for high-waisted bikinis.

Swimwear: to accessorize or not to accessorize? That is the question we're constantly faced with, season after season. A common misconception when it comes to bikinis is that you can’t dress them up without looking over-the-top. And while it's a fine-line between cute and overkill, it's a risk we're willing to take. We love a good accessory, and paired with the right ‘kini, it's a total game-changer. So, we’re here to set the record straight with our floppy hats in tow.
Here are five easy ways to accessorize your swimwear this summer without looking too extra (because nobody wants that).

When the temperatures begin to spike, it’s time to hit the road. Whether you’re headed to the beach for the weekend, or the lake for the day, summer is the unofficial season of spontaneous road trips. Pack a bag full of bikinis and snacks, grab your best girlfriends, turn up the jams and roll down the windows—because ready or not, summer is here.
Regardless of where you're going and what you're doing this summer, you'll need a killer playlist. Here are some of our top favorite tunes this summer, old and new. Some you’ve heard (possibly too many times, but you still can’t get enough) or some you’ll be listening to for the first time (and loving). Either way, we hope your summer rocks (literally).

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard talk of the newest movie to hit theaters—Baywatch. If that movie succeeded at one thing, it’s nostalgia. The film aside, we can all appreciate a little throwback to the iconic red one piece.
It’s undeniable that the one-piece has made a major comeback as of late. Over the course of the past few seasons, we’ve seen one-piece swimsuits in pretty florals and bold solids, featuring funky cut-outs or mesh and crochet insets. More recently, in light of Baywatch (the movie), we’ve seen heaps of onesies in hues of red, with retro silhouettes.
They’re classic, they’re red hot and they’re everywhere this season. So naturally, we rounded up some of our favorite Baywatch inspired swimsuits.

Ready or not, summer is coming in hot. In addition to sunscreen, new sunglasses and on-trend bikinis, we’re adding pool floats to the summer 2017 line-up. Because if you didn’t snap a photo with an inflatable flamingo, did you even really do summer? The answer is no.
It’s unbelievable how much pool toys and inflatables have evolved over the years. We’re seeing fun and funky novelty pool floats everywhere from our own backyards and resort pools, to celebrities’ Instagram feeds. They’ve undoubtedly become the hottest summer accessory—and rightfully so.
So, in honor of the three-day weekend, here are 2017’s most coveted pool floats. You heard it here first.

Memorial Day Weekend, the unofficial start to summer, is upon us, which means it’s time to dust off your favorite pool floats and fire up the old BBQ grill. In light of the pool parties and beach days that are sure to follow this weekend’s festivities, we’re talking about skin care. Choosing a sunscreen and taking preventative measures to protect yourself from the sun’s damaging rays are just as important, if not more important, than picking out a new bikini.
Here are five quick tips on protecting yourself from this summer’s beaming sun.

The days are getting longer and we couldn’t be more excited for the warmer weather that is sure to follow. This change in seasons has us craving all of that balmy summer goodness. You know, like bright white sands, lush palm trees, fruity drinks in tropical cabanas and the salty ocean breeze.
Whether you’re dreaming of a week in the Bahamas or a day by the pool, we’ve got you covered (literally) with our favorite hats of the season. After all—beach hair, don’t care. Are we right?

It’s April -- but you’re wondering where the warm weather is hiding! True, some parts of the U.S. have seen some sunny and warm days recently but beach and pool season still seems too far away to start counting down the days. There’s actually a cure for this beach craving: it’s called Florida!
For West Coasters, Florida might be a bit too far away, but for most of the rest of the country -- East Coast, Midwest and South -- Florida is the perfect antidote to the spring time blues, when the weather is warming up but just not quite warm enough for swimming (besides, West Coast has SoCal and Mexico for their own beach getaways). Here’s 5 easy and quick beach getaways in Florida worth checking out if you have the springtime beach blues.
Fernandina Beach – Amelia Island’s close proximity to Jacksonville Airport might be one of its biggest draws but it still feels a world away once you get there. With two terrific resort hotels and the historic small town of Fernandina Beach right there for dining and strolling, this is the perfect spot to spend a fun April weekend.

Ready or not, festival season is upon us. Whether you’re staying local or heading out west, April is the unofficial kick-off to music festivals across the country. From cut-offs to wide-brimmed hats, and everything in between, festivals have molded the fashion industry to meet a new standard—bohemian goddess meets rock and roll. If you’ve been to any sort of multi-day concert, you know that it’s a fashion force to be reckoned with, all while dressing comfortable enough to withstand the heat of a 12-hour, jam-packed day.
So before you pack your bags for Coachella, here are a handful of our must-have, festival essentials—a “fest aid” kit, if you will.

by Bev Sanders, founder of Las Olas Surf Safaris for Women
A frequent question from first-time surfers coming to a Las Olas surf and yoga retreat is, “What type of swimsuit should I bring?” Many ask if a light neoprene spring suit is necessary in the bathwater temperature beaches of Mexico. Even when the water is warm, a light spring suit makes me feel less vulnerable, and our surf coaches wear them under their rashguards for extra warmth and protection.
When it’s too chilly to wear a bikini alone but a full armed and legged wetsuit is overkill, a light neoprene wetsuit is essential in any surfer’s quiver. After twenty years surfing in the warm waters of Mexico and the chillier coasts of central California, I’ll do my best to guide you through the frequently asked questions when choosing your first spring suit.
What is a spring suit?
Spring suits come in several different silhouettes–– long sleeves and bikini-cut bottoms, sleeveless and mini-short bottoms, even trendy bikini separates––all made in neoprene thickness between 0.5mm to 3mm. The higher the millimeter thickness number, the warmer the suit will be.

We're almost to April, which means you've inevitably started seeing tropical vacations and weekend getaways pollute your social media feeds. You know what that means-- spring break. Spring break is either one of two things 1) a well-earned week off of work spent at home with family and friends, you know, like a stay-cation, or 2) an excuse to travel. Whichever way you spin it, you deserve a little R&R, and we're here to help.
If an extoic vacation isn't in the cards for 2017, you can certainly swing a trip to your local beach (or park). Either way, a new beach bag is TOTE-ally necessary. Because no spring break is complete without all of the essentials in tow-- you know, like sunscreen, sunglasses, a good read, your favorite potato chips, or whatever.
We rounded up a handful of our favorite beach bags with you, the spring-breaker, in mind. Here they are;
