Measure around the smallest part of the waist.
Measure around the widest point of your hips and buttocks.
Start at inner shoulder, come down the front of the torso and go between the legs. Continue up the back to the start of the tape on the shoulder.

I used this shirt over my swim suit top so I wouldn't get any more sun on my upper arms and chest. It worked great in the pool and I didn't get any more sun in those areas. I really like having this as an option to cover up areas.
