Anne Cole's Swimwear line has a beginning like none other. Anne Cole entered the world of fashion in 1951. Starting at the bottom and working her way up, Anne would eventually achieve worldwide acclaim for her innovative swimsuit designs. Known as the original "California Girl," Anne is one of today's most celebrated swimsuit designers and is still creating Hollywood-classic swimwear that appeals to all generations.
The daughter of actor and swimwear pioneer Fred Cole and his wife, Alice, Anne's childhood was set amidst the sparkle of Hollywood. After studying at UCLA and Holy Names College, Anne started working at Cole of California Factory. By 1960, the company's expansion required a New York office, which Anne established. She became the creative force behind the brand as well as the company's spokesperson. In 1982, Anne launched the Anne Cole Collection. Her swimsuit line is based on the idea that "A swimsuit should reveal, not expose. The woman should wear the swimsuit; the suit should not wear the woman."
With styles appealing to women of all ages and sizes, Anne Cole is still regarded as a leading expert on fashion swimwear. Her introduction of the tankini in 1988 sparked a nationwide trend that continues to rage. With a reputation for outstanding fit and quality, it is easy to see why swimsuit buyers clamor for Anne Cole.
