My daughter is 7 and wears a size 24 suit and 7 or 7/8 in girls clothing. This suit didn't offer a ton of coverage for her bottom, but she has muscular thighs and buttocks so it would probably be adequate on a lanky child or an older girl. She still said it was comfortable and it does stay on in the water fine. I will look for a more modest cut on the bottom next time, but still a quality suit.

This suit was purchased as a practice suit for my 7 year old. She wears a size 26 suit and wears a 7/8 in girls clothing. This suit could offer more coverage in the rear for her specific body type, she is athletic and has muscular legs and behind. Because of that, this suit seems low on her lower back. She is 50 in tall and 55lbs for reference. I will buy a different cut for her next time but the quality is great and she says it feels great and stays put in the water. She swims 3 days a week. This fit would be great on a long lean build or a lanky kiddo.
