Measure around the smallest part of the waist.
Measure around the widest point of your hips and buttocks.
Start at inner shoulder, come down the front of the torso and go between the legs. Continue up the back to the start of the tape on the shoulder.

My son liked how these looked and fit. He’s 5’3 and 115lbs. The 28Y was too tight in the nether regions so we went with the 28 mens - I have no idea what the measurement differences are but he said they fit better. We got them in two colors and he loved them.
