Measure around the widest point of your hips and buttocks.
Start at inner shoulder, come down the front of the torso and go between the legs. Continue up the back to the start of the tape on the shoulder.

I am a serous lap swimmer and thought I'd try this one-piece suit. It looks great and is the most lightweight suit I own. The only downsides: I had NO idea what size I wear since the sizes are not conventional, so I ordered the largest size offered (40) because I am pear-shaped. You have to get used to the back zipper--it would be helpful if the company added a small robust loop so you could reach the zipper more easily. It also is not tugless around the bottom,and it comes up high on the back of my neck, but overall, I really like it. SwimOutlet shipping was speedy. Just wish they'd cut the music when you first come to their website to search---it's a bit disconcerting.
