Measure around the smallest part of the waist.
Measure around the widest point of your hips and buttocks.
Start at inner shoulder, come down the front of the torso and go between the legs. Continue up the back to the start of the tape on the shoulder.

Very cozy. It kept me warm during medium rain -- water didn't soak through much. Maybe a little too warm for some summer evenings, but very nice for when it's chilly. Big front pocket. Comfortable adjustable hood. Neck hole is a little snug at first. The "GUARD" design is printed on well and doesn't peel or get discolored the way some prints do. Overall very nice sweatshirt.
For petite folks:
As a woman with a short torso, I ordered size Medium and it fit with room to spare. The sweatshirt ends below my hips, same as any other size Medium sweatshirt. The sleeves were quite long on me. I rolled up the sleeves a bit, and it looked nice.

My son is a lifeguard and was having a hard time finding a sunscreen that didn't irritate his skin. This sweatshirt was a nice alternative to sunscreen while the sun was not too hot and it gave us time to find a suitable sunscreen. Good fit and kept the sun off his neck.

True to size fit. It is a nice thin sweatshirt but the inside is a very soft material so it keeps you warm enough if it’s a bit chilly out.
