In surfing it's the most fun when the water is warm and you can be barefoot. Unless you get a nasty cut from the rocks or reef. These things will keep you free of cuts that will ruin your surf sessions. If you like walking out at a rocky break barefoot be my guest. But if you don't want to take a chance of injury or just don't like pain these are for you. They run true to size but I recommend buying 1 size smaller than you are. Tight fit is best.
