Freestyle Swimwear was founded by Audrey Tirrell, a former Division I collegiate swimmer who set out to solve a problem she'd experienced firsthand: the lack of training swimwear built around what female athletes actually need. After surveying thousands of female swimmers worldwide, Tirrell developed a line of competitive training suits shaped by direct athlete feedback rather than by guesswork.
Each design goes through rounds of in-pool testing and refinement before it's finalized, with fit, durability, and performance driving every decision. Fabrics are chlorine-resistant, fast-drying, and UV-protective, made with 50% recycled yarn and polyester as part of the brand's focus on responsible manufacturing. Suits are designed in New York City and produced in Korea through an intentional production process meant to extend the life of each piece.
Freestyle Swimwear positions itself as one of the first competitive swimwear brands built with direct input from the athletes who wear it, with the goal of providing female swimmers training suits that fit and perform the way they need them to, in and out of the water.
