Xcel Paddle Glove Covered Thumb with Open Fingers

I was knocking off thumb skin and breaking nails before these gloves during Outrigger 6-man paddling. Life savers.

Initial impressions: I had originally gone with a medium, based on the sizing chart, but had to return and get large. They still fit very snug and are difficult to get on or off when wet. The fingers seem to be a little long and the reinforcement patch hits right in the middle of my knuckle joint, causing a little discomfort on first use. I'm hoping they stretch a little and loosen up with more usage.

These are not grip-y at all. : (

I now use them to keep the sun off my hands while snorkeling. I also cut the tips of the thumbs off and sewed those seams. It was too awkward having the thumbs fully covered while my fingers weren't.
