I bought this to do a 2.1 open water race in Lake Superior for next summer. I just started training and swam about a mile in this in a 57 degree lake. It's super comfortable, warm enough (althoughI may get a warmer cap), and my body position in the water is awesome with the paneling they provide.
I originally bought the entry level TYR I men's small/medium bc it was on sale. I felt like a bobber in the water, so bad body position, it was hard to get around my hips, and tight around my neck, hard to breathe in.
So I had to try something else. I think the women's cut is better around hips. It was hard to decide which size to get. I'm 5'6" and 128 lbs. According to their size chart I should've ordered a women's medium. But I didn't want to risk that too tight, I can't breathe feeling again.
So I sized up to a women's medium/large and I love it! Comfy and I can breathe.
If I were an Olympic swimmer going for the gold I would've went with smaller size. But I'm choosing comfort over a little faster fit. I want to race hard but enjoy the swim by feeling comfortable. I love the color pop too with pink and teal! Super cute suit!
