Measure around the smallest part of the waist.
Measure around the widest point of your hips and buttocks.
Start at inner shoulder, come down the front of the torso and go between the legs. Continue up the back to the start of the tape on the shoulder.

This is not flimsy but feels like it will last for a while as my others did. I ordered a medium which fit perfectly: I am 5'6" and weigh 129. It is a pretty bright color and stays that way for at least a year - my last one did. It is attractive with the gray lines under the arm and accentlng one's waist. Love this!
