Start at inner shoulder, come down the front of the torso and go between the legs. Continue up the back to the start of the tape on the shoulder.

Freak, simple bathing suit without extra seams. Nice and narrow, and the functional drawstring is helpful. Definitely order down. My 40 lb 6 yo is comfortable in a 22 and my 50 lb 8 yo wears a 24. Neither could have worn a bigger size.
