Measure around the smallest part of the waist.
Measure around the widest point of your hips and buttocks.
Start at inner shoulder, come down the front of the torso and go between the legs. Continue up the back to the start of the tape on the shoulder.

I got a 36 which is a tad long for my 5'7" 135 bod. Otherwise, it felt great in the water. I'm a competitive swimmer and appreciate straps that don't rub. It doesn't ride up on my bottom.
