The flat tie makes for a flat waistband, welcome for something that's serving as a minimal, fairly slippery underpinning for a wetsuit, and as cover if the wetsuit gets removed at the beach shower. Should be a fine substitute for beach swims in lieu of board shorts. I like the green version enough (understated but interesting) to try a gold.

Got a size 22 in green for my 5.5 year old who is tall for his age. I was worried they might fall down when swimming but the elastic waistband works well and there is a tie inside if you need it tighter.
