We open-water swim in Puget Sound year round and need warm gear. I have to protect my ears from the water because I have a hearing disability and have had surgeries on both ears. My hair and ears stay dry with the hood and it is also warm for winter swims.

Great purchase for my open water swim at the Ironman 70.3 Indian Wells race. The water was 57F. I didn’t do any cold water training before, just wore it once in an indoor pool the week before. During the race, my head stayed warm and it worked well. My neck and face not covered were cold so the cap was a good choice.
