Nothing is more irritating when you’re trying to train or race than chafing. To alleviate this issue, many athletic companies strive to create garments without seams or material designed to not chafe. However, sometimes even these cannot do the trick. The garment may be too short, allowing the skin on your legs to touch and rub, or it rides up uncomfortably.
Luckily, there are a number of products made to go on the skin where rubbing would normally occur. These creams, ointments, powders and sticks create a protective layer on the skin that prevents the friction that causes chafing. If you frequently run, bike or swim while wearing a wetsuit, investing in anti-chafe products could save you a lot of skin irritation. Eliminating one small distraction allows you to better focus on the race or training session ahead.
