Hugger Mugger Sattva Jute Eco Yoga Mat 68" 3mm

I got a mat exactly like this over 10 years ago and I still have it. It has travelled with me all over the place and overseas. It is the most durable yoga mat of all time! People often compliment it and ask me about it. Double bonus that it is eco-friendly as well as long lasting. My conscience is more at ease with non-petroleum based product. I like the way it feels and how thin it is. It is definitely different from most mats which are squishy and rubber. I can see how people used to those types of mats would find this very different and need to adjust to it. My preference is all for the thin mat - I like to feel the firmness of the ground under me. As far as grip goes, I've never had a problem with sliding on it, but I know other mats are more "sticky" (because they are rubber). As mine got more worn, it did start to disintegrate just a little, but not enough to be a real issue. The jute is very durable and long lasting. I'm so glad I found one just like it now, since mine finally succumbed to mold due to leaving it out on the deck in the rain a few too many times. I haven't seen any elsewhere.
