My daughter was in swimming lessons as a baby but cannot swim on her own yet. She was used to us holding her the entire time during her early lessons and refused to try floaties that go on her arms. She was willing to try this vest out and had a blast having a little more independence

Great item. But the shoulders are too big on my 2 year old so had to shorten the straps to keep her mouth above water
