Measure around the smallest part of the waist.
Measure around the widest point of your hips and buttocks.
Start at inner shoulder, come down the front of the torso and go between the legs. Continue up the back to the start of the tape on the shoulder.

Functional. The fit of this is very close, tight, but that’s what I prefer in a rash guard for swimming and sailing. I hate floppy loose sun shirts for these sports.
