    Better than a square leg

I swam competitively as a kId from elementary school into college. Since I still swim to keep in shape, I''m always looking for a new suit, so I bought the brief and the "square leg" version. The picture looks more like a 1950s-Jacques Cousteau era diving suit, but that''s not the true fit for me (which is fine). For me, square leg suits are like 3/4 sleeve shirts---I feel like I either need to pull the legs lower or push them up to brief height. I put square leg in quotes because the fit is more like a brief that is wider over the hips for more coverage. The legs are a bit more square than a typical brief, for a comfortable, more stylish fit. I often wear this suit under trunks or board shorts, but end up usually just wearing these at the beach or pool without embarrassing my family with a Sporti Euro cut. Fit: Do pay attention to the sizing--particularly the hip measurement since this suit rides lower than some of the other briefs. I mistankenly ordeded a size too large by following only my waist size which corresponds to an Italian/Euro 5, but I kept it anyway. I''m 6 feet tall, 170 lbs with a true 32 inch waist, I don''t have much in the way of hip girth...only about 36 inches there. Out of the pool, the size up means it''s more comfortable for all-day wear. An Italian/Euro size 4 would be fine if not more snug.
