With another snorkel I choked on small amounts of water that I couldn’t fully blow out. But now this new snorkel prevents water from entering or easily moves it out—I think it’s because of the purge valve. Pricey but worth it to me.

My son is 10 y.o. & swims multiple times a week on year-round swim. He has really liked how lightweight the TYR Ultralite Elite Snorkel has been. The Headpiece is not as padded as his other larger snorkel but he says it is fine for practice with no complaints. This is our second TYR UL Elite snorkel because the flange just fell out of his first one at practice one day - it fell out into the pool while he was swimming, which was annoying. (He is not overly rough with his equipment). I contacted TYR customer service & they were great & promptly mailed me a new flange. However, it was pretty much impossible to insert it back on in from the outside of the snorkel (I tried every method & tool I could think of). So, fingers crossed that our flange stays put this time because the light weight of this snorkel is so much better for my young swimmer.
