Good deck shoe.
I promised myself I would purchase some nice pool shoes once I reached twenty miles of swimming. I have a bad habit of buying a lot of nice gear then not sticking with a program. This time I am having to 'earn' my gear as I go along and this is my reward for making twenty miles. I started the program for absolute beginners on LiveAbout dot com and just bought some cheap pool shoes at the big W to start. (That program starts with 4 x 25 as your first workout and builds slowly from there so twenty miles took a while...) These fit well. They are easy to slide on and off. They grip my feet whether they are wet or dry. They are comfortable to walk and drive in. I like how easy they are to step in and out of so it makes changing clothes at the Y safer as my feet spend less time on the floor of the locker room. As far as cons, I don't think they provide enough support for me to wear them all day. I don't spend a lot of time on my feet as I am working from home in a white collar job. My feet are not as strong as people who have to stand more so this is a personal observation. As they say your mileage may vary. Overall these are well made and solid. They are true to size and comfortable for the short period of time I wear them. They provide protection as well as good grip on wet surfaces around the pool and locker room.
