PRODUCT DETAILS

  • Constructed from a unique DuPont T-152 Lycra® blend, the Aquapel™ fabric undergoes a series of state-of-the-art treatments that make it one of the most sophisticated competition suits available. Powerful rollers thin and lighten the fabric while retaining its strength, density and recovery. A thermal heat application then sears it to create a silky-smooth, flattened finish. Finally the fabric is coated with a hydrophobic finish, making the Aquapel™ one of the fastest technical suits on the market.

    • Extends to just above the knee
    • High velocity hydrophobic coating
    • Advanced compression biomechanics
    • Turbulence reduction
    • Zip up back
    • Bisecting hydrodynamic flow panels on the chest and rear provide vital velocity enhancements
    • Creation of a turbulence buffer zone between the body and the water improves glide efficiency
    • Engineered panels are strategically positioned to channel water away from the body
    • Lycra blend

  • 8/10/2009 Excellent...

4 Review Stars By Sandy H.

I used it at the Junior Olympics.  I dropped time in everything and our relay came in second place.  Even though it is not the most advanced swimming technology, it still made me go faster.

3 Review Stars By TIA R.

The suit is made very well and I am sure would accomplish what it is made for except it does not come in small enough sizes. the companies need to realize that swimmers do actually need the smaller sizes. I would definately give it more stars if they made the smaller sizes

4 Review Stars By Arielle H.

THIS IS THE SECOND TYR TECHNICAL COMPETITION SUIT I HAVE PURCAHSED. IT FEELS GREAT TO WEAR AND I TRULY BELIEVE IT ENHANCES THE ABILITY TO REDUCE DRAG AND IMPROVE TIMES. IN A SPORT WHERE EVERY .01 COUNTS, EVERY BIT HELPS!
    THE DESIGN LOOKS SHARP TOO!
WHAT MORE CAN ANYONE WANT IN A TECHNICAL SUIT?

4 Review Stars By Eva Nymoen R.

the swimsuit is used at competitions, and my 14 year old daughter  who is the user here thinks it`s a great swimsuit, because it is thight and the water doesen`t cling to it, she says. It does feel a bit smaller than what the size told us. we will try one size larger next time ;-)

  • 6/29/2009 Can't wait to swim in this suit, seriously

5 Review Stars By Mary Beth Burke

I swim laps in this suit 2x a week. This suit is super because of its coverage, strength, style, and price.
This is my first purchase thrugh swimoutlet.com and am so happy i referred my friends to your site. They have kids on swim teams and are always buying swim suits and gear.

The only negative thing about it is it reminds me not to overeat because it is so tight and shows any little bulge.

10yr old husky swimmer....nope not gonna fit! wears a size 6 woman's speedo and we went all the way up to 36 for this product-
you need to be skinny and straight..not for a cury swimmer at all!

    4 Review Stars By sarah

I double checked the sizing chart before ordering this suit.  it said to order based on waist size, so that is what I did.  The suit was ridiculously to small for me. If you have a very defined hourglass body shape like me, order up a size or 2 even.  I am currently returning the suit to get a larger one.
I am impressed by the material and cut of the suit.  I can't wait to get the exchanged one that fits!

i bought this suit for reginals but i didn't get to swim. When i did swim i dropped in everything but free. at first i couldn't breath in warm ups but later i could and after that meet i could breath perfectly so at the first meet it might be a bit tite but dont give up on it.

  • 2/21/2009 Overall a great suit

4 Review Stars By aquatic center dreamer

Fits everywhere except the knees!  I had angry red lines around my knees where the edge of the suit dug in.  Otherwise,  I love it!  The high neck means I'm always covered. No flimsy straps!  It has a good feel in the water.

ABOUT THIS BRAND

TYR

Founded in Southern California in 1985, TYR™ has since developed a reputation for high-quality products and equipment. TYR competition swimwear and triathlon gear have been a dominant force in their respective industries. The company is also known for its TYR goggles, swim apparel, triathlon wetsuits and a wide variety of swimming equipment.

TYR was the first company to introduce a pair of goggles designed to fit a woman's face (the TYR T-72). TYR was also responsible for the famous red bathing suits featured on the hit television series "Baywatch." TYR consults with current and former athletes when developing its products. Swimmers know that TYR is a leader in swimsuits, warm-up suits, and swim training equipment. The TYR Tracer Series is one of the most advanced technical suit lines on the market. The TYR Hurricane wetsuits and the TYR Torque collections include top-of-the-line suits for the competitive swimmer.

TYR has also moved into competitive running equipment. From running shirts to shorts, its apparel is designed with the runner in mind. Built with moisture wicking fabric and antimicrobial material, TYR running apparel is designed to give the athlete the most comfortable, dry clothing on the market.

The name "TYR" is derived from the Norse god of warriors, who is said to have embodied victory and glory. Much the same can be said about the athletes who started TYR. Executive Vice President, Steve Furniss, was an Olympian who competed in the 1972 and 1976 Summer Games, and captained the 76th U.S. Olympic Swim Team.
