I probably have overrated these (might be deserving of only one star--this is my first SwimOutlet review, and I'm feeling somewhat merciful), and while overall they don't get a passing grade, there are things about them that made me select these in the first place. I wanted a water shoe I could use in the pool for Aqua Zumba classes. The shoes were comfortable and did a great job draining. and the soles gripped well. However, within a couple of months of wear (only two or three 30 minute classes a week), the sides and the elastic around the foot opening began to fail severely, and the shoes would fall off and float away if I didn't curl my toes into a ball. Look at the product picture--that zig-zag stitching around the opening is the elastic thread that is supposed to provide the holding power for the shoe. If you are looking for a shoe to dangle your feet in the water from the edge, this might be the shoe you're looking for--it's at a nice price point, too. On a positive point, the removable insoles for these shoes ARE very comfortable, and in fact, I put them into the O'Neill boots I bought to replace these. Those shoes are holding up much better than the Speedos and are taking everything I've dished out to them!
