Pros: Suction and its shape are truly amazing, like no other goggles. Good clarity and field of vision. No leaks what so ever. They go completely flush with your face and you really feel zero drag. No matter how bad of a dive you will do they will never fall of and/or fill with water.

Cons: I have 3 problems with these goggles. 1 - The strap is way too small. I''m 6''1, 215 with an average size head, so I might have to replace that fancy speedo strap and put on a good old fashioned regular one. 2 - Because of the way the corners of the goggles are designed to go almost at a 45 degree angle (for the peripheral vision and to go flush with your face), your eyelashes will actually scrape the inner lens of the goggles each and every time you blink...3 - My biggest issue with them is that they are not WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get). They are exactly like "Speed Socket Mirrored Goggle" in terms of the way everything appears under water. It is very hard to judge where the wall is before you do your flip turn, which is quite frustrating.

I will give it another couple of weeks and see if I can get used to this, and if not then I''m going back to Vanquishers.

Since I only had them for 1 practice so far I can’t quite comment on fogging aspect. They did start to fog up just a bit at the beginning, but after dipping them in the water and shaking the water out, they didn’t appear to fog up at all. Quite frankly however, I do not have much hope for them and did equip myself already with JAWS Quick Spit.

So if you have a small head, short eyelashes, and optical view doesn''t bother you, then these are the best goggles you will ever get, although I still do not think that they are worth what Speedo is selling it for.

*Experience: 8 years of competitive swimming - pre-high school, high school, and D1 College.

So after several practices I thought I would write an update:

I like them a lot more now. I seem to have grown accustomed to the "distorted" underwater vision that I had mentioned in my prior post. I don''t notice my eyelashes scraping the inside of the goggles any more. They tend to fog up just a bit after the initial warm-up but as soon as you dunk them in the water or "French kiss" them, they tend to stay relatively un-fogged.

I have yet do an "official" start (off the blocks) with these but after doing some run-in-dives off the side of the pool, I must say that they stay glued to your face, although you may actually need to pull the strap just a bit tighter for competition days.

I will give them 5 stars this time to get my overall opinion to be 4/5 (since my previous one was 3/5).

2 Things you have to know prior to purchasing these goggles:

1 - It appears that these goggles do scratch rather easily and because those slick-ricks carry a rather hefty tag on them, you may want to keep them in that little black pouch that they come with; else you will be in need of new ones quicker than you have anticipated. Those aren''t the kind of goggles you toss in the bag!

2 - Unless you practice with "Speed Socket Mirrored Goggles" that I had mentioned earlier, I highly discourage from using these as "Race Day Only" goggles. You will need to put in several miles with these before you get used to the "distorted" view that they offer.

    Bottom line is:

    Yes, I would recommend them.

ABOUT THIS BRAND

Speedo

Speedo® is a household name for swimmers. The company was founded in 1914 by zealous hosiery manufacturer Alexander McRae. The name "Speedo" was adopted in 1928 along with the company slogan "Speed on in your Speedos." Since its inception, Speedo has outfitted Olympians, vacationers, and lifeguards. The company cloth is donned by children just learning to swim, and seasoned swimmers seeking a satisfying water workout.

Speedo has come a long way since being the brunt of questionable modesty jokes in its homeland of Australia. Fastskin, Speedo's revolutionary line, utilizes a patented fabric that incorporates stealth into swimming and mimics shark denticles to help reduce drag. The company's latest designs include the use of high-end fabrics, such as the Speedo FS II, Speedo XD Skin, and Speedo Endurance.

Speedo still manufacturers many of its classic suits, such as men's Speedo swimsuits, women's Speedo swimsuits and Speedo competition swimsuits. Speedo also offers a unique breakdown of swimsuits by modesty level, including the Speedo Contemporary, the Speedo Conservative line and the Speedo Moderate line. For swimmers looking to add fun to their routine, Speedo also features the popular lines Speedo Team Next and Speedo Flipturns, as well as Speedo Begin to Swim for the youngest swimmers.
