I like full coverage and usually wear boy shorts for lap swim. I sized down (XS instead of my usual S) and these fit well. I have a narrow waist and the fabric below band sometimes catches resistance on flip turns, but the band never slips, even for dives off the block. The fabric is study and has lasted about a year of regular wear.

The waist elastic in these bottoms is quite wide and runs through a "pocket" rather than being stitched down. As a result, it tends to get twisted when garment is being put on or taken off. I solved this by tacking it in 3 additional evenly spaced places (it comes fastened to one side seam) with my sewing machine.
