This sturdy beach umbrella gives an impressive amount of shade in the sun. It is easy to carry over your shoulder (although it is longer than I thought it would be when in the carry bag). We used it on the beach, the pointed end was easy to insert into the sand and it stayed in place firmly. We didn't experience very high winds so I cannot comment on how the umbrella would cope in this situation.
