  • 11/1/2015 Knee relief!

    This mat is incredible.

I used to use two mats (Hugger Mugger Ultimate Tappas on top) and even with two mats I had to fold one over for any pose on the knees. Also, my back foot would slip in warrior series if I used lotion the night BEFORE.

With this thicker mat my knees feel great and I do not have to stop practice to fold/arrange mat. Also, it is sticky and my feet do not slide ...the fear of re-injuring my hamstring us gone and I can enjoy the warrior series!!

The mat is heavier and wider than my precious mats. I like the extra width; but, it does not fit in standard yoga mat....I improvised and made my own bag. The need for new bag and extra weight are a very small inconvenience for the comfort and peace of mind during yoga practice (think of extra weight as exercise 😐) .

The thickness makes it much more comfortable on my feet and knees. Thus I'm able to concentrate more on my pose versus my owies.

Picks up fuzz, hair, and particles thru static, easily.

Provides excellent cushioning when using on my wood floors. I use it for pilates and light aerobics, such as Jessica Smith DVD’s and Classical Stretch.

This mat met all my expectations. It is very comfortable and worth every penny.
It does get a little slick during sweaty sessions, but I just use a towel under my hands.

  • 7/27/2020 After a few tries I finally found a good thick mat

    5 Review stars By Julz

I have rods in my back so I need a softer yoga mat. I tried out a nice manduka that was about 5mm thick and it was too hard. It also did not grip well. Then I tried a $15 gaiam that was about 10mm thick. It felt like a soft exercise mat and started to stretch out after the first use. I don't think it would last very long for yoga. I returned those and finally got this mat. It's nice and thick. It's a lot softer than most 5mm mats, but it has a firmness to it that makes it much more easy to balance on than an exercise mat. It grips well and is not showing any wear after a few weeks of intense yoga. It's the perfect mat for someone who needs more cushion than a standard mat. It's also made in America.
