10/9/2018 You get what you pay for, and more...

5 Review Stars By LJ aka Grampee

I went from a Garmin Vivofit to the FR235, and then to the FR935 because I wanted accuracy, convenience, and activity tracking for all my activities at age 70.  The 935 is used for swimming, pool jogging, trail hiking, indoor recumbent cycling and treadmill exercise, etc.  The 235 was found to not be consistently reliable, so a Mio Fuse was also used for as long as that company provided support.  The Fuse was eventually replaced with an Apple Series 3 Watch, and the 235 was swapped out for the reliable 935.  Over the past two years my activity has been monitored before and after open heart surgery, where a calcified aortic valve was replaced with a bovine device, and a cardiac artery was given a short bypass replacement using a vein from my leg. Garmin data was available and valuable prior to and after surgery, and the upgrades to the Connect Mobile app have been used by my doctors and me to monitor my recovery during this period.  It may be nerdy to wear two watches, but they duplicate important info, like HR, steps/min, time, distance and calorie burn, and more, but I also get phone calls in real time and I monitor cardiac stress 24/7.  The sleep data is incredible. At my age I compete only with my own prior stats, just to stay healthy, but real athletes could easily make use of the sophisticated applications of the 935 and would be impressed by how useful this device can be. Swim Outlet had the best price for the 935 at the time I wanted one, and since I get most of my gear from them, I just added it to the order.  What a great decision!

  • 8/12/2018 An excellent investment for the serious athlete or starting a get fit program

5 Review Stars By Peter M

I hesitated spending the money for the watch, a pricy investment. The open swimming capability sold me. As a Triathlete I often swim in the sound to train. The watch gives me distance and track, stroke frequency and speed. It monitors my running, biking and all activities. Another great bonus I have found is the data regarding the efficacy of my training program, with virtual coaches and training programs as part of the package. I have no doubt the watch will improve my performance. Worth every penny.
