  • 12/30/2020 Way too thin and no grip

1 Review stars By Eva B.

This travel toga mat was disappointing. Yes, it was small enough to fit into my suitcase easily, but not worth it at all it turns out. It's so thin that it feels like there's no barrier between me and the floor, so exercising is really uncomfortable. There's also no grip on it, so my hands easily slide. Maybe their regular mats are good, but I would say definitely save your money and don't invest in the travel product.

The travel yoga mat is functional and light weight. However, my experience with YogaOutlet is why I gave the 3 stars. Truthfully if I was only reviewing YogaOutlet it would have been 1 Star. The mats were order almost 2 1/2 weeks before the trip we had planned. They arrived at the shipping Vendor 2 days later and sat 30 miles from my home for 3 weeks. I emailed YogaOutlet twice with no response. I attempted a chat to ask for a refund and was told if I did not have them by June 10 they would refund me. The mats arrived in a beaten up box on June 15. I will order Gaiam products again, they’re my favorite, but I will not order from YogaOutlet again. Customer service is grossly lacking.

Planning to go on a distant retreat, I wanted to take a mat without adding another object to my carry-on. This worked perfectly, since it folded in the bottom of my suitcase. I used it on a carpeted floor, so I have no idea how it might have worked without the cushion of the carpet. Still, it was a great and inexpensive solution to a problem.

I was flying to a retreat out of state, and couldn't figure out how to carry my mat when I saw this. It fit into the bottom of my big suitcase and unfolded when I arrived. Because of the folds, it is not entirely smooth, but for the purpose it was perfect.
