Wetsuit thickness is measured in millimeters, represented with two or three numbers separated by a slash. The first number represents the thickness of the neoprene in the torso area, the second number represents the thickness of the neoprene in the extremities (or just the legs if there is a 3rd number), and the third number (if present) represents the neoprene thickness in the arms. The thicker neoprene (the first number) is used for your torso in order to maintain your core body heat. Your core heat is extremely important to maintain in order to prevent hypothermia. The thinner neoprene (the second/third numbers) are used for your extremities. The thicker the neoprene, the more warmth but less flexibility; thus the thicker neoprene is placed where you need less flexibility (your core) and the thinner neoprene is used where your body is constantly in motion (arms and legs).

My grandson has four of these suits from your company. This one keeps him the warmest. He uses the suits for daily swimming classes.

About This Brand

Body Glove

With a reputation for making swimsuits that fit the whole body like a glove, it's no wonder where Body Glove got its name. Company founders Bill and Bob Meistrell learned the craft from experience. They were self-taught swimmers who, in the 1940s, became among the first certified scuba instructors. They have been making the finest Neoprene wetsuits under the brand name "Body Glove" since the late 1960s.

Body Glove™ relentlessly pursues advancements in wetsuit design and selection. Its current line features youth and adult wetsuits, life vests, water shoes, rash guards, and waterproof beanies. Body Glove's "Vapor Skin" suits and boardshorts are perfect to wear for surfing warm waters. The company takes prides in making its products tough enough to take on the waters of any coast.
