I couldn't be happier with this purchase. They are functional and comfortable. They came with plenty of tubing for versatility. Much more than I ended up using. I strung one piece of rubber across the bottom for my wrist and one smaller piece for my middle finger to fit through. Then I cut off some of the excess tubing. This is the set-up I like to use and the paddles stayed nice and secure. I purchased the medium. It was large enough to increase resistance without straining my shoulders. Perfect hand paddles!

  • 7/1/2015 Arena Vortex - great

4 Review stars By aqua grandpa

I recently started swimming as part of my exercise routine due to a knee injury.  I haven't done any serious swimming in over 10 years and really didn't know where to start with gear.  I googled buyer comments for hand paddles and decided on the Arena Vortex primarily because of the surface area (not too large) and the paddles offer several hole setting options to run the rubber tubbing (for hand security).  I am not disappointed.

  • 5/29/2012 Tubing?

4 Review stars By William W.

I love these paddles.  They hold tight to my hand and yet leave enough finger wiggle to adjust my goggles without taking them off.  The only reason that I didnt give them five stars is that they arrived with two sets of tubing and absolutely no instructions on how they "should" be strung.  I ended up going to Arena's web site and blowing up the catalog picture.

These paddles fit my hands well. I like all the strapping material they came with- I was able to customize them to my needs. I like the curve in the palm instead of a flat paddle.

Great product. You can set it up anyway you like with as many or little straps as you want. Excellent way to change up a workout.

Speedo is good at making hand paddles, but Arena seems better - a lot better.  the bands are a lot more rigid and fit securely in place, so they wiggle around much less than most other paddles.  I have mind just right, so that it doesn't feel tight, yet my hands still feel securely attached (speedo's are awesome, but they often get loose and require re-tightening after long swims).

Paddles have lots of options as far as hand placement with straps! Zero complaints!
