Of the Speedo LZR X and TYR Avictor Venom, which suit offers more compression? For distance free and 400Im is compression or range of motion more important? Trying to choose between the two. I don't see many distance swimmers in Arena so I've never considered it.

To get the proper size on the item, please take the actual chest, waist, hip and torso measurements in inches and then compare it to the sizing chart of the item as different brands use different sizing chart.

My daughter is a high school breast stroker. Her previous tech suits have been inexpensive (TRY thresher) and she loves the fit, but has no other tech suit to compare it to. I want to get her a higher performance suit for this year. She believe water repellency is critical and is leaning towards the TRY avictor. I was looking at the Arena carbon air or flex with it's better compression. Which is more likely to have a bigger impact on time - increased compression or increased repellency?

My 11 year daughter(Very competitive swimmer) is 5 feet tall, 204lbs and wears a size 28 regular competition and training suits. I am planning a buying her an Avictor Tech Suit and have been told by others to buy her 2 sizes down to a 24. Or should I size by TYR size chart? What are your recommendations? What are the differnences between the different Avictor suits, is it just color patterns? Thanks for your help!

Hello Ken,
We recommend following the sizing chart. The most important measurement to follow is the chest. Some swimmers size down for more compression but if you do this, you risk ripping a very expensive suit so we always prefer you follow the sizing chart. The technology is the same for all of the Avictor suits, some just have prints and some are solid.

Hey, I am a very competitive swimmer and a major freestyler and breaststroker. I am looking for a good tech suit that can offer good compression/speed, but also good movement. The two suits I have narrowed it down too are the Arena Carbon flex VX and the TYR Avictor Prelude. Which of these suits would be better for the stoke I like? Also if there is any other suit that would be better for me please let me know. Thanks!

The suit should fit pretty snug. If it was very easy to put on, it's most likely a little bit too big.

Hi Laura! The truth is, not very long. That doesn’t mean your investment gets tossed in the trash though. Let’s do a little math to get started. Say your championship meet runs four days and you are competing in two events a day plus relays, and don’t forget timed finals. You could be looking at upwards of 20 swims! Plus warm-up and warm-down makes for a lot of time in the water. Each time you are in the water your tech suit degrades bit by bit. To reap all the benefits of a tech suit you want them fresh and crisp, new out of the box. If you take excellent care of them they will certainly reward you. This means rinsing and air drying them after each use. Never put them in a dryer. Ever. The harsh truth is don’t expect to get more than two full meets out of a tech suit.

Just going based on you wearing a size 30 on the Carbon Pro, you may be a size 26 on the TYR Avictor. These two brands size very differently. It's always best to take your measurements and compare to the size chart for the Avictor suit for most accurate size.

It's possible 27 would fit just going based on your size with Carbon Pro it would be a little bigger in waist but hip would be about same size. It would be best to provide your waist and hip measurement for more accurate size suggestion.

Hi Henry! Either is good but the Avictor won't have us much compression, so it's a trade off between compression/speed reduction and range of motion.
