Must-Have Items for Your Resort Vacation

January 15, 2017 | By

By mid-January, most people are ready to ditch the cold and unwind somewhere sunny and 75. Whether it's an escape from the post-holiday blues, or a vacation from the stormy gloom that seems to be blanketing the entire country-- we're more than happy to trade in our beanies for bikinis. Checking in to a tropical resort, sipping fruity drinks and frolicking in new beachwear is just what the doctor ordered.

Here are our top 7 must-have items for a resort vacation, in no particular order.

L-Space Swimwear Liberty Palm Serina Bikini Top + Emma Bottom

We've got you covered, literally. This 'kini combo screams vacation vibes with its vibrant palm print. Pair the liberty palm top and bottom with a simple, white cover-up and an oversized straw hat for an extra-chic island style. Grab a tropical smoothie, put on your bikini and set your email response to out of office (you can thank us later).

Billabong Seasides Tues Straw Hat

Billabong does it again. There are few things we love more than a good straw hat, and this one is to die for. Straw hats can complete just about any outfit, but we suggest wearing it with your favorite swimsuit or your best "casual but cute" romper for an effortless, "I'm on vacation" look.

Somedays Lovin In Paradise Strappy Midi Dress

The name says it all, "in paradise." This midi is a vacation must with its tropical floral print and strappy back details. Style it with your best black, floppy hat and lace-up sandals for a sandy-chic style at dinner. Or, keep it casual from the beach to the bar and throw it over your swimsuit.

Extra points if you strike a pose in front of a palm tree (tag us @sostyleswim if you do)!

MINKPINK Just Peachy One Piece Swimsuit

A sassy spin on a classic one piece-- this swimsuit is perfect for beach-goers, sun-bathers and pool-partiers alike. The Just Peachy One Piece is Sexy enough for an adult's only resort, but modest enough for a kid-friendly pool, making it an all around must have in our book this season. Throw on a pair of high-waisted shorts for an easy, resort approved outfit and hit the deck in style.

We love this onesie, because, well, It's just peachy! We think you'll love it, too.

Rip Curl Stevie Romper

Whether you're road tripping to the sandy beaches of Miami or jet setting to the shores of Jamaica, the Stevie Romper is made with the traveler in mind. It's oober-comfy for your wanderlust soul, but cute enough so you can arrive in style (which we all know is important). Dress it up for a day of exploring with bohemian sandals or down with a denim jacket and tennis shoes for the plane ride-- either way, you're winning.

O'Neill Palm Street Trucker Hat

You can't forget a hat to protect your face from the salt and sun. We love the Palm Street Trucker Hat by O'neill, perfect for your tropical escape, because beach hair, don't care (are we right?). Throw this hat on after a day in the water and go.

Keep calm and palm on-- after all, you're on vacation!

Seea Folia Solanas L/S Surf Suit

We couldn't forget a piece for all the surfer babes. If you're chasing the swells somewhere sunny, the Seea Folia Solanas L/S Surf Suit is for you. It's tropi-cool (see what we did there?), all while providing you with the best protection from the balmy sun. Don't surf? Don't worry, you can pull this little number off, too. It's that good.
