Fun Team Fact? The group completed a “Virtual Swim” to Disneyland. They added their yards together from each practice to equal the distance from their pool to Disneyland in Anaheim, CA (348 miles / 605,000 yards), as a way to stay motivated in between Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
Oakdale Aquatics in Oakdale, CA has had a robust USA Swim program and seasonal recreational swim team for years. In January 2014, Coach Ed Mageean helped form Oakdale Aquatics Masters. Over the past year, the program has grown to well over 70 members registered with US Masters. “We have had a lot of growth this year. It has been exciting to introduce a formal Masters Swimming program to our community. We have an amazing group of swimmers who work hard and love the sport” said Coach Mageean. The team has plans to compete in various Northern California Open Water and Pool races in 2015.
