Each year, swim brands worldwide gather up their latest designs and most innovative fashions and take to the beaches of Florida for Miami Swim Week. As buyers, we get to see a sneak peek of the hottest trends for the upcoming seasons, from our favorite brands, strutting across the runways. We’re total suckers for a good swimsuit, which makes fashion swim week just as important as any iconic, seasonal holiday that we look forward to at the end of every July. This year, we attended runway shows from Gottex, Seafolly, Maaji and Indah, and saw a curated mix of new trends such as pom-poms and tassels on swimwear, rose gold hardware, unique cover-ups and even suspenders as an accessory for high-waisted bikinis.

So, just like that, another fashion swim week in Miami, Florida has come and gone and we’re reporting back with 2018’s soon-to-be most coveted styles.

Statement one pieces – Everyone’s favorite sexy, statement one pieces are still going strong. For 2018, you can expect to see more one piece swimsuits with verbiage and cheeky sayings printed on the front, as well as vintage-inspired cuts with high legs. Yasss!

Strappy swimwear – We’ll undoubtedly be all tied up in strappy swimwear come next summer. We’re projecting to see sexy silhouettes with strappy details on the sides, fronts and backs of one pieces and bikinis—which isn't necessarily new, but it's still so good. Keep your eyes peeled for the debut of the newest lace-up trend, bustier tops and stringy bottoms!

Shoulder details – Beaches worldwide were covered in 2017’s hottest trend: off-the-shoulder. In the coming year, off-the-shoulder isn’t going anywhere, but we’re adding a few new styles to the mix. Make room in your bikini drawer for one-shoulder swimsuits, cold shoulder cover-ups and lots of ruffles!

Soft colors – Light color palettes—mauve, nude, and mustard and lavender—will be your best friends in 2018, and rightfully so.

Stripes, stripes and more stripes – We saw a ton of stripes on the runway this year, and there’s no doubt that they will be stealing the show in 2018! The iconic nautical style, with a hint of modern is definitely something we can get on board with (get it?).

Velvet Swimwear – Yep, you heard that right, velvet swimwear is a thing and it's going to be big. We’re really looking forward to seeing how the brands pull this one off with unique styles, pretty hues and varying silhouettes.
