5 Fool-Proof Ways to Accessorize Your Bikini

Swimwear: to accessorize or not to accessorize? That is the question we're constantly faced with, season after season. A common misconception when it comes to bikinis is that you can’t dress them up without looking over-the-top. And while it's a fine-line between cute and overkill, it's a risk we're willing to take. We love a good accessory, and paired with the right ‘kini, it's a total game-changer. So, we’re here to set the record straight with our floppy hats in tow.

Here are five easy ways to accessorize your swimwear this summer without looking too extra (because nobody wants that).

Bold Sunglasses – Sunglasses tinted with a hint of color are all the rage this summer—and rightfully so. We especially love light, rose-colored lenses paired with a neutral bikini for a retro pop of funky, and a dash of feminine.

A Hat – Whether it’s a baseball cap, a floppy sun hat or a wide-brimmed boater, you can’t go wrong. Hats kill two birds with one stone—being functional and fashionable—and there’s something to appease every style.

Dainty Jewels – At the risk of looking too glam, beach-goers often opt out of wearing jewels on the sand. However, we love adding subtle jewelry to accentuate the neckline of the bikini. Try layering a few gold chains to compliment your next ‘kini.

The Hair Scarf – Hats aren’t for everyone, and this year we’re seeing the bandana take center stage. Throw your hair in a messy top-knot and tie it off with your favorite bandana or hair scarf for a unique flair.

A Kimono – Ditch the traditional cover-up and spring for a kimono that matches your swimsuit. You can wear it open for more coverage over your bikini or belted for an easy beach-to-bar look—either way it’s a win.
