These hurt my ears after just a short time. They are too hard. I'll leave them in my gym bag "just in case", but I won't be using these on a regular basis.

We swim a lot and by mid-summer I tend to get ear-infections or at least a sore ear with mild headaches. I got the ear plugs to keep the water out. It does seem like some water is still getting into the ear but it seems like is also regulates the pressure of the water. So even though my ears aren't completely dry, it has solved my ear ache problem. I like that even though it keeps out most water, it doesn't keep out sound so that I can still converse as usual. Also, the proper way to put the ear plug is the flat side in, not the layered side. That helps! But the instructions and diagram were very small.
