FINA has ruled that elite swimwear (technical suits) must now be made of 100% textile only fabric. Effective January 1, 2010, the Speedo LZR Racer may not be used. USA swimming and NCAA may soon decide to follow FINA’s mandate and ban the suit as well. Effective immediately this technical suit is not allowed in high-school competitions in the USA.

Speedo's Aqualab has once again reinvented the technical suit. The Speedo Fastskin Pro is lighter, faster and more powerful. Speedo's special LZR pulse fabric, a high density microfiber fabric woven from chlorine resistant elastane and ultra fine nylon thread, provides the lowest water absorption rate of any woven fabric.

With all these benefits and features, it's quite evident how Speedo retains longtime wearers of their highly advanced suits.

Recently, USA Swimming Head National Team Coach Mark Schubert was among many swimming insiders praising the new Fastskin FS Pro. "The FS Pro is taking swim suit technology to a whole new level", he said. "After breaking the 200 Butterfly world record, Michael Phelps commented to me 'on my last turn, I felt like I was shot out of a cannon in that suit. My legs felt so good". Since Michael Phelps tested and approved the suit, Speedo is hard pressed to have a more authoritative nod.
