    Comfortable functions and readout

Got this watch (two) to replace much older watches of the same type which had stopped working reliably so the best statement about it is probably that I chose to replace an older watch with the same model, have been happy with it for a very long time. Size of the display is easy to read, having both subtracted and cumulative splits available together helps reduce confusion and an extra step to have to chose between them. My experience shows about 10-12 years use before it starts giving double clicks or spurious responses. Battery life is good even with daily use which is helpful because while batteries are commonly available, replacement is not trivial. Requires a very tiny screwdriver, which I purchased maybe decades ago and keep just for this purpose. I appreciate having the mode switch on the front where it is highly unlikely to be accidentally activated during use unless you really want to and keeps buttons for mostly single uses, much easier to use during races without having to think a lot about it. I will also mention the watch fits fine in the metal board and holder also available from SwimOutlet, and which I have used for decades and love...no fumbling for watch, pen, forms, and no misplacing my watch in the heat of many races in a meet. My only issue here will not be the watch, but the delivery system. NEWGISTICS was a delivery company I had not heard of, seemed to be a variant or maybe sub-contractor of sorts of the postal system. Tracking number was similar to…

    Great watch

I got this watch to use as a swim coach. I had a basic, non-memory stopwatch before that just wasn't cutting it (I can't time four lanes at once with that watch). With this, I can get four 'splits' and read back each one to the respective lane - very helpful. If timing one swimmer, I can get the lap splits and the display shows running time, cumulative time, and split time all at once. You can recall the splits while the clock is running, all while still recording splits too. The back has a no-proof-of-purchase warranty (the date is printed on it) but it says September 2012! Makes me think this has been sitting on the shelf for awhile. Also, when I press buttons there's a tiny bit of display latency, which tells me the batteries really may be from 2012. It's not a big deal, the time is still accurate (2 weeks old and the "Clock" function is only a second off Atomic time) and it's nothing a new set of batteries can't fix. It does have a proof-of-purchase warranty if you keep the receipt, which I did, so if there really is an issue it's okay. It has a stroke rate calculator - works similar to the Tachymeter on a fancy watch. Starts at 180 and counts down to 10. Hit start, count 3 strokes and press stop and it tells the stroke rate. Watch has 3 modes: Time, Stopwatch and 3-stroke stroke rate calculator. Overall a great purchase for a coach - very useful for getting my swimmers' splits and times for dive sprints, etc. Technically it's submersible and waterproof, but I haven't…

Easy to use, easy to read

Allows rapid splits without reset to running time, a real annoyance on another watch. Also allows rapid recovery of splits without either returning to running time or an annoying message saying it is in recall. Easy to read: another watch I have used has the top row so close to the top of the bezel that the numbers are often shadowed indoors, making it difficult to differentiate between 1 and 7, 6 and 8. While I am more a basic black kind of guy, I am finding the bright yellow easy to locate in typical swim bag clutter and during races. I used to prefer the single button for start, splits, reset, but am now finding it easier to recall splits during races with a separate splits button, easier and quicker to reset without the 3 second reset delay. Too new to comment on durability. Have not used the stroke rate function yet, but will soon. Oh, and the bright yellow has finally gotten the kids to say this old man is cool about something.

Rich functionality but mediocre case and buttons

I first bought the AX725 and loved the quality and ease of use. However, since it only has memory for 16 laps and I really need at least 20, I opted to buy the AX602 with the 100 lap memory, clock and stroke functions. It is functionally rich. Unlike the AX725 which does not show the running time and the cumulative time until I press the lap button, this one shows the lap, cumulative and running split times at all times. Additionally, when I review the lap times after stopping the watch, I can see the laps from the beginning rather than from the end. Unfortunately, the quality of this AX602 stopwatch is inferior to the AX725 though. The plastic feels brittle and cheap and the buttons feel slightly loose and rock when I touch them. There is also a mechanical clicking noise whenever I press the button. I much prefer the feel of the AX725 with its smooth buttons and translucent body. My least favorite feature is the the 5-Year No-Proof-Of-Purchase Limited Warranty. The warranty date stamp at the back had already expired in September, 2012! How can that be when I just purchased the stopwatch so I should have a 5-year warranty starting yesterday!!!??? The manufacturer stamped the warranty expiration date on the back of each watch so customers do not need to have proof of purchase (a good idea since we don't always save our receipts). However, in my case, this stopwatch obviously sat on the shelf for many years and even bypassed the warranty expiration date! I called Accusplit and…
