      Tyr - good as usual!

Works great, glad you need to work the core a little to keep it in place when first using it. After a while it becomes second nature.

      Proper use:

1st, you must wear a brief (grape smugglers) when using a pull buoy of any type. Jammers will let all buoys easily slide out. 2nd, pull buoys should easily fit inside of your quads (inner thigh.) If it doesn't, exchange it. Last, this is the best pull buoy for me. I have bigger quads, so it sits tight through 10 X 500's without slipping. When I purchased this buoy, I thought about using some surf wax on it because it was much different then my foamier-double-barrel Styrofoam-versions.) The surf wax helps, but it isn't necessary unless you have jammers on. This buoy floats more then anything I've ever used (I weigh 185lbs.) and it's great for open-water swimmers who regularly train in the pool.

      Bad bouy

I love to pull, but this bouy is no good. I wanted something different and liked the closed-cell type foam. I tried 6 months w/this bouy 5x a week but gave up b/c it's so hard to use! It took a lot of concentration& extra energy on turns. there are better & cheaper buoys.

      Great buoyancy -- unfinished product.

I'll try to be as succinct as possible: I use pull buoys to warm up and to remind myself of proper upper-body freestyle technique. That aside, while this 'elite' buoy is indeed buoyant and streamlined, the chance of making it through, say, a full 200 at any pace without it launching from the legs/crotch/knees (or wherever it slowly migrates) is pretty much nil.I have tried various permutations on placement, initially using the TYR logo as my guide, to no avail.Even developed inner thigh strength won't get you to a 500 without this buoy being relegated to the pool deck in favor of the tried and true hamper of on-hand, reliable floats.Sooo close, but... nope.
