Trigger Point puts a twist on traditional foam rollers with the revolutionary Trigger Point The Grid Foam Roller. The compact design is perfect for calves, sides, and more.
This product can be used in the pool with chlorine. The chlorine will not disintegrate the foam.

good product, not so good instructions
Good product, not so good instructions. I love what it does for me, but it took me a while to figure out how to use it (i'm still learning some things). There are some basic pictures that come with it, and a bunch of videos they want you to buy, but I already paid pretty pricey for it...I found my best resource on youtube. The company has a channel that is helpful, plus a few other folks have stuff up for it as well.

Really helped work out my IT band problem, although roller could've been a bit softer. Using it now for behind the knee support after hip replacement! Great for travel -- can stuff clothes in tube.

Foam rollers rock!
By using the roller after a workout, I greatly reduce the amount of soreness I experience. It's pretty easy, just lay your quads, hams, calves, back or arms on it and roll over it with body weight, like you're rolling out cookie dough, only the roller is under the dough, not on top. It will be uncomfortable, but the action of the compression brings on myofascial release of knotted up or tight muscle/ connective tissue and stimulates blood flow to get the sore out. I like this particular one because of the rigid inner tube that gives a harder tube to roll on, and it lasts longer than just a solid foam tube that will break down over time. The only drawback I can see is that it isn't the most convenient to use on arms, but it still works on a table or against a wall or on the floor. Bottom line- I would recommend this roller to anyone that wants a quality roller that will last, and work if used correctly.

Cassidy Phillips, Founder and CEO of Trigger Point, is a biomechanical specialist concentrating on sports performance, injury prevention, and the muscular structure that supports the efforts of the body in motion. His objective is to recognize the biomechanical challenges of movement and actions of everyday life and marry them with the biomechanical inefficiencies recognized within patterns of movement defined by a sport of choice or through sedentary patterns of movement such as sitting, walking, and running. Realizing that muscular structure and biomechanics play a role in daily life, Phillips began analyzing athletes' sport-specific movement patterns. His theory was that most injuries developed by athletes don't happen while they're training, and that the traditional aches and pains of aging can be minimized by addressing everyday biomechanical and muscular structure.
Once told that he could never be an athlete again due to a muscular dysfunction called Fibromyalgia, it became his personal mission to understand muscular structure and the regeneration of dysfunctional muscle tissue. Instead of going through the traditional methods of schooling in fear that his out-of-the-box approach would be squashed, Phillips tackled countless hours of research to better understand the various methods of massage, chiropractic care, surgical procedures, and the treatment of traditional injuries in sport due to repetitive motion. Through his research, Phillips felt there was a void in the homecare component of treatment. This is why Phillips decided to work directly with those in need: athletes and non-athletes in pain.
After a long process of trial and error, he married his newly found education to his biomechanical background. The result is a line of patented products called Trigger Point Technologies (TPT) that mirror the feeling of the human hand. Phillips' patented products and methodologies allow a person to address biomechanical challenges via myofascial release techniques and patterns of movement. These techniques can be used both in a clinical setting and within the comfort of one's home. Along with TPT tools, Phillips developed books and DVDs to assist people in using the tools, and to understand what is going on biomechanically and structurally.
