Measure around the widest point of your hips and buttocks.
Start at inner shoulder, come down the front of the torso and go between the legs. Continue up the back to the start of the tape on the shoulder.

My ten year old son prefers jammers for swimming and has alternated wearing two pair of Sporti Camo jammers for two years now. I bought this new pair as he's nearly grown out of the smaller size. My son says they're comfortable and that he doesn't have to think about his swim shorts. He's happy that his shorts don't balloon like the other boys' shorts do. I'm happy that the price was reasonable and the jammers have lasted nearly two years with year-round swimming. They've faded in time, but are still fully functional. We always rinse bathing suits in cold water after use and line dry.

This is our second time buying this suit, our son (9 years old, ~4'9" tall/70lbs, slim build. Currently in a size 24 but can fit the 22 as well, just a bit more snug) loves it for practice, it is his favorite. Fits great and holds up well, although the colors do tend to fade. We've had both the blue camo and the green camo and I'd say that the blue camo looks better purely for aesthetics but both are great suits. Fits true to size.

The fit was perfect, it seems to be holding up very well. He said the tag in the back bothered him, but when I took it off there were no more complaints.
