This swim suit was well made, attractive and a great color (it looked just like the picture!)

I bought the 38, since that's the size speedo I wore pre-pregnancy. Unfortunately, while it fit well around the butt, it was snug around the belly (and I'm only 14 weeks) leaving me doubting it would last throughout the whole pregnancy. more importantly, it was gaping around bust (I'm about a D cup now). There was huge triangles of material hanging under the arms.

I tried on a few different styles of EQ Maternity one piece suits, and I hope this comparison will help others who are trying to decide.

About me: I'm 5'10", overweight, apple-shaped, average length torso, 6 months pregnant, pretty large chest. I am used to wearing competition swim suits. I was looking for a suit that would provide good coverage and some support in the chest for swimming laps during my pregnancy.

Although the suits appear to be cut the same, there are some differences:
    1) Harmony Shelf Bra: I agree with other reviewers. The body of this one is a bit short. Also, since the lining is attached to the outer layer of the suit, the shelf bra doesn't actually add any support.
    2) Harmony solid one piece: Also short, but otherwise what I expected.
    3) Laguna print one piece: The cut is very similar to the Harmony suits, but this one was a bit (almost an inch) longer and much more comfortable for me. It was exactly what I expected based on the photos and description and was my second choice.
    4) Banded one piece: Although I preferred the look of a solid color, I actually ended up keeping this one. The reason is that the band actually did provide some extra support for my chest because it pulled the suit tight against my ribcage.

Overall, all of the suits had plenty of coverage in the chest and rear for me, though I do agree with other reviewers on some of the suits that the rear is cut a little different than other fitness or competitive suits. The straps are perfect for me, and I am able to swim without the suit gapping when I move.

    rating star By KM

I swim competitively and am still training with the team so I was drawn to this suit because of it's training-suit style rather than the open back "recreational" style suits. The concept was great, but in reality this just didn't work for my body.

I'm 5'7" with a fairly long torso, about 140lbs pre-pregnancy. I typically wear a size 34ish Speedo training suit. I ordered the large because the reviews I had read said I was going to need the large to get the length. The length was PERFECT. The room for the belly (at about 27 weeks) was perfect and I think there probably would have been enough room for the belly to grow into. The bust and butt on the other hand were flapping in the wind like you wouldn't believe! There was nothing I could do to save this suit and make it functional, it would have been like swimming in a parachute.

Unfortunately it had to go back in favour of switching to a 2 piece Speedo suit for the remainder of my pregnancy. At least everything stays covered!

I swim laps to keep in shape during pregnancy. This suit gaps just a little under the armpits but I have a small chest. Good fit everywhere else. It does not sag and create drag which I feel like I already have with my growing mid section:) Swimming after delivery will seem so easy. I am excited to find a suit that will help me keep up the swimming.

  • 3/4/2013 Not sure it's goign to be great

    rating star By Jill

It's a little too early to say, and maybe it's because I purchased the suit too soon, but it seems MUCH bigger than a size small.  I'm not the smallest woman out there, and though I'm only starting to show, it seems like there is much too much material. Hopefully I'll grow into it, but right now, I am having doubts about finding a correct-sized maternity fitness swimsuit.
