Travel: 5 Can't Miss Resorts To Try This Winter!

October 18, 2017 | By

The winter beach travel season isn’t here just yet but it’s definitely time to start dreaming about it – and to book your plans to escape the cold weather blues. Even with the devastation from Hurricanes in the Caribbean and Florida, there are still dozens of great resorts in the U.S. with amazing pools and beach access to choose from this winter. Here are five cool U.S. resorts worth putting on your short list!

Costa d’Este (Vero Beach, FL)
This resort, owned by Gloria Estefan, is very much like the town where it’s located: understated and low-key. A minimalist pool area with a view of the surf maximizes your relaxation while the hotel’s proximity to the beach business district within Vero Beach gives you more options should you choose to venture beyond the resort and hotel property.

Calamigos Guest Ranch (Malibu, CA)
The sprawling property just a few miles up the hills from the Malibu coastline is only 45 minutes from the bustle of Los Angeles, but feels like a world away. Its unique design elements and public spaces are aesthetically-pleasing, while massive oak trees and mountains with rock out-croppings make for a beautiful natural setting. The ranch features two pools – a lap pool and a main pool – and you can take the shuttle – a Tesla Model X – down to the beach club if you crave surf. But check the weather, this might be a resort of late spring if you want to sunbathe!

Ritz-Carlton, Bacara (Santa Barbara, CA)
Ritz-Carlton recently completed its purchase of the original Bacara Resort & Spa, while renovating all 358 guest rooms on the property. The gorgeous Mediterranean style hotel set on the bluffs 10 miles west of Santa Barbara has a pool to die for and you’re just 40 minutes away from the wineries of the Santa Ynez Valley for a quick day trip.

Turtle Bay Resort (Oahu, HI)
Are there more luxurious resorts out there? Definitely. But if you’re looking for great family fun, in a beautiful location, with things to do galore, Turtle Bay Resort on Oahu’s North Shore is worth a look. With multiple pools, hot tubs and water slides, young swimmers will never get bored while adults can choose from a selection of seven different restaurants on the property.

Gasparilla Inn & Club (Boca Grande, FL)
A historic property that dates back over 100 years with incredible charm and character, it’s a classic Florida resort that harkens back to earlier times, but includes modern amenities and fantastic access to the beach, bike paths, golf and more. One of the top resorts on the Gulf side of Florida and a great way to support a section of the state hit hard by Hurricane Irma.
