In 1947, ousted by the communist regime in Czechoslovakia and forced to leave with only the most meager of possessions that fortunately included a sewing machine- the Riedl family landed in the German town of Bayreuth. The family set up shop making women's underwear from used parachute silk purchased from an American airbase nearby.
The natural progression from undergarments to swimwear happened a few years later and thus was born Adolf Riedl, GmbH Company Kg. Nearly 65 years later, the Adolf Riedl GmbH, Company is the largest manufacturer of swimwear in Europe with a global presence worldwide.
Their brands, Sunflair, Opera and Sunmarin are known for an incomparable fit, the latest in fabric technology, the most unique and beautiful prints and uncompromising attention to details.
For the past three successive years, Sunflair has been the recipient of the prestigious Sous Award, for being the number one selling swimwear brand in Europe. However, Sunflair is available throughout the world, including the United States of America, Canada, Mexico, and Australia.
