I was afraid of using paddles after an overuse shoulder injury with swimming. I gave these a try and my shoulders hurt LESS! These force you to align your hand and arm correctly - I am thrilled with the results so far. And, when I swim without the paddles, I can see the improvement already.
Good tool to have in your tool box. I swap it out with other paddles to focus on lengthening stroke. Follow instructions and see video on Finis on how to use properly.
I have been using the FINIS Freestyler Hand Paddles for several years now. They are, in my opinion, the best hand paddles for teaching proper hand placement and stroke technique. I have been recommending them to everyone who will listen to me. Unfortunately, some people out there believe that hand paddles are made to develop shoulder strength. This is not the case and these paddles are not designed for that purpose.
These paddles are simple and effective. Helpful in improving entry and extension. great design.
These are my first set of hand paddles and I must say it was diffucult to get used to them. The lack of holes to allow water flow makes it unconfortable when pulling and flit turns are a nightmare. I will be purchasing another set of hand paddles and then try these again once I get some good practice on the other ones.
I liked it.. it increased the speed of my strokes.. It irritated first couple of weeks but i got hang of it.. I liked it.
