In 1999, Headsweats Perspiration Technology was founded by shoe industry veteran and cyclist Alan Romick. Frustrated by the dangers of heavy sweat blindness, migrating sunscreen and odd sunburn patterns on his head through his helmet, he was determined to create headgear that actually worked. He used feedback from the cycling community to take the best attributes of what was available and improved upon them. The result was The Classic, his first prototype in available in four colors. Little did he know that the Classic would quietly become an elite athlete's secret weapon around the world. Headsweats expanded its line to include over 17 different items, available in over 140 different colors and styles. Headsweats was no longer a secret when The New York Times posted a Tour De France rider wearing Headsweats gear on the sports page. Soon, Headsweats were seen at Ironman Kona, Charles Regatta, and many other marathons and bike races around the world. Headsweats uses cutting edge and innovative technology such as washable, airlight, and supremely wicking hats to establish them as the front runner in the cycling and triathlon market. Now, Headsweats products have been spotted on construction workers, chefs, police forces, snowboarders, marathon runners and everyone in between. |
