The Zone 3 Elite Neoprene Buoyancy Shorts 5/3mm are not made for chlorinated pools. It is not recommended to wear neoprene in a chlorinated pool as the chemicals will deteriorate the neoprene at a faster rate than regular swimwear.

The Zone 3 elite has neoprene composition of:


  • Sides: 5mm Yamamoto SCS Aerodome neoprene

  • Center: 3mm Yamamoto #39 SCS neoprene


While Zone 3 has:



  • Sides: 3mm Yamamoto Smoothskin neoprene

  • Center: 2mm Yamamoto Smoothskin neoprene

No particular number in pounds but it has 30% more buoyancy than standard neoprene.

These shorts are technically considered a men's item, but could be worn by women as long as you follow the sizing chart to ensure you are selecting the best size. The sizing chart is available on Zone 3's site directly, about midway down the product page at this link.
